Drawing from the bold and free-spirited approach in the 70s, Alexander wanted to apply his newest Derlot addition, Pipeline, to impacting daily life now – bringing freedom, connectivity and creativity back into a contemporary setting.

Pipeline is a modular seating system made up of five separate modules. The ‘fifth element’ is a cylindrical bolster that nestles across the seat module providing a back rest you can have loads of fun with when creating the configuration, you most desire.
“It’s such a simple shape, but we really wanted to accentuate the idea of the bolster resting on the seat, as though it is almost sinking in,” says Lotersztain. “The idea was to create this visual tension between the backrest and the base, making it feel casual in the way the bolster is just kind of resting there.”
The 70s was a time, without mobile phones and devices, when people connected physically, face to face and with eye contact. There was joy around spending time with one another. Pipeline suggests a balance between that spirit and seeks to inspire and bring people together in the now.

Pipeline is also designed with an optional freestanding side table and power & USB socket that can be seamlessly integrated without compromising the design.
Inspired while camping with a group of Bedouins in the Egyptian White Desert, Lotersztain recalls the casual feeling of sitting under the open night sky with a Persian rug on the floor and oversized bolsters to lean on, sipping mint tea and snacking on dates.
