A new addition joins the iconic Eames Hang-It-All family. The MoMA Edition is a special colour of Hang-It-All in A colourful addition to any space!
The Eames Hang-It-All, originally released in 1953, exemplifies the Eames’ belief in taking pleasure seriously. Made with a sturdy steel frame and solid wood balls, this colourful coat rack was created using the same technique for simultaneously welding wires that Charles and Ray developed for their low tables and wire chairs. The Hang-It-All is as functional as it is fun; it can hold coats, hats, purses, laptop cases, and much more.
The various bright colours of balls that Charles and Ray landed on for the original 1953 production have become a classic. But much like most of their designs, the colourway decided on in 1953 was just one of many iterations that the couple explored during conception. Recently, the Eames Office unearthed previously unseen colourway explorations in our archive, including this newly released combination of a stonewash blue frame and vibrant red balls.
The sketch was brought to life with Herman Miller for the Eames Office pop-up at the MoMA Design Store in New York, where the Eames Office and MoMA celebrated our long-time shared histories.
