Thanks to a new proprietary process of producing fiberglass, Herman Miller is once again able to produce the Eames original 1951 Molded Fiberglass Side Chair safely by means of a less volatile, monomer-free “dry bind” process. Like the original shell chairs, their new fiberglass finish has the same covetable surface variation and tell-tale fiberglass striation that have attracted avid vintage collectors for decades.

Seat: Single-piece nonupholstered shell with waterfall edges and molded fiberglass seat and flexible back.

Base: Timber 

FINISHES

Shell colours: Parchment, Elephant hide grey, Red orange, Navy blue, Black, Terra cotta or Dark seafoam

Upholstery: Available with full upholstery or seat pad upholstery

Base: Ebony, Walnut, Natural maple or White ash.

Available with full upholstery or seat pad upholstery.
